How to explore
- To turn: drag with the mouse, or with one finger.
- To zoom: scroll the mouse wheel, or pinch with two fingers.
- Click a planet or its name — the camera flies there and a card of facts opens.
- At first the planets move sped up. The 🕒 button puts everything where it really is at this moment, by your device’s clock — when it is night where you are, your side of Earth is dark too. ⏩ speeds it up again.
- Exploring can come with soft sound — it starts off; the 🔊 button turns it on or off. The guided tour is silent.
- Use the chips below to travel out to the Kuiper Belt, the heliosphere and the Oort cloud — the very edge of the Solar System. A planet's card leads on to its moons.
- “Guided tour” starts a 75-second journey. Pause it and the scene is yours to explore again.
- Tour keyboard shortcuts: Space or K play/pause, ← → one second back/forward, comma and full stop one frame, Home/End start/end, L loop, F full screen.
Note: to keep everything in view, sizes and distances are not to scale, and the planets move many times faster than they really do.
